About the Author

My name is Amber Simmons (aka Amber Fisher), 29 year old wife and mother of two living in central Texas. I’m a web designer by trade at the University of Texas at Austin where I hope to eventually pursue a PhD in Philosophy. I am the author of Philosophy of Wicca, my personal interpretation of Wiccan theology and philosophy. This site has nothing to do with this book, however.
Over the years, my personal philosophy has changed quite a bit. I began as a Christian, became Wiccan for 10 years, and now I’ve changed again, casting myself as what Karen Armstrong has called a “freelance monotheist”. I identify most strongly with both conservative and mystical Judaism, and perhaps one day I’ll consider conversion more strongly. In the meantime, I enjoy the intellectual freedom free-form, ambiguous spirituality offers. You’ll probably notice a distinct Jewish flavor to my brand of spirituality floating around these pages –if not, you aren’t looking hard enough ;)
If you can deal with my heresy, with my take-it-or-leave-it attitude, I welcome you to this site, and hope that you will find something within its pages that you can apply to your own life and make your own. If nothing else, I hope it makes you think, and deepens your relationship with whatever Gods you follow.
About the Site
Breathless Noon is powered by Wordpress, an open source blog platform. I’m using it as a bit of a mix between a blog and a content management system, which ends up meaning that there is usually more than one way to get to any given piece of content, and it also means that sometimes related articles won’t be in the right order. I’ve tried to provide navigation aids where possible. Suggestions are welcome.
By the way, if you’re any of the people listed below, email me. I’ve been looking for you for years :)
